Christmas Craft Sale

We are holding a Christmas Craft Sale on the afternoon of Tuesday 22 November 2011 between 1.15 pm and 3.15 pm at the Walled Garden, Bryn Estyn Road, Wrexham LL13 9TY.

There will be refreshments available, and unique crafts will be on offer that our beneficiaries have made over the past 12 months.

Tours of the garden will also be available (depending on the weather!).

Tickets are £1, which can be paid at the door.

All proceeds will go to the Erlas Victorian Walled Garden Charity.

The Walled Garden will help host a morning visit by the Wrexham Heritage Society. The visit will last from 10am - 12 noon.

The first hour will be spent looking around the Erlas Centre (the old Bryn Estyn Hall), concluding with a walk around the gardens. There will be a short talk about the history of the gardens.

The Walled Garden will be manning a stall at the Wrexham Farmers Market in Queens Square. Fresh cropped produce and plants will be on sale and information will be available for peope interested in volunteering or becoming a 'Friend' of the Walled Garden.

The Walled Garden is hosting a National Moth Night in conjunction with The North Wales Wildlife Trust and The Butterfly Conservation on the evening of Saturday 15th May.

The evening will start at 9pm and as well as setting traps for late spring moths in the varied surroundings of the garden, there will be an opportunity to purchase refreshments and other crafts made by the trainees at the Walled Garden.

The following day, as part of the ‘Grow your Own’ Activities weekend co-ordinated by a number of local organisations and The Erlas Walled Garden Charity, a number of our volunteers will be present to give demonstrations and advice about growing your own vegetables. This event, which is part of the Wrexham Food Festival is taking place at Queen’s Square, Wrexham, and is running over the weekend of Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th May.

A Walled Gardens Study Day organised by the Clwyd Branch of The Welsh Historic Gardens Trust’.

There is a cost of £21 for non-members, and this includes lunch for those who have pre-booked.

There will be a tour around the gardens in the afternoon.

The Erlas Garden Project held a relaunch event on the afternoon of Monday 17 September 2007, to thank all sponsors and stakeholders who have contributed over £415,000 towards the continuing development of the Erlas Gardens as a cultural, educational and recreational facility for the community of Wrexham and North Wales.

15 August 2007

Unfortunately, the Project didn't make it through to the National Lottery Award finals, but we did extremely well to make it to the semi-finals, so a pat on the back to all involved.

9 July 2007

The project has been shortlisted for the National Lottery Awards in the 'Best Education Project' category. This is effectively the semi-final stage and to make it through to the finals we need as many votes as possible between now and midday on 3 August.
